WE ARE BRINGING LIFE ONÂ MARS!
The incredible journey of chicken reaching Mars.
A CRAZY GAMBLE
Have you ever imagined chicken on Mars? It probably seems a little crazy, right? However, we decided to develop the first concept ever of fertilization in vitro in space. Of course, the insemination will only help to grow chicks in eggs, which will be sent to Mars with the crew members. The birds will only hatch out from the eggs in the martian base, in the dedicated space. Finally, the crew members will be able to continue the reproduction of the species on Mars to extend the resource.
OUR OBJECTIVE
In case the crew members can't return on Earth due to the collision with the asteroid, our goal is to elaborate a self-sufficient way of producing food.

THE CONCEPT
The autonomous incubator is composed of :
(1)- a compartment for the outset cartridges.
(2)- a compartment for cartridges containing ovocytes (also known as vitellus), this space has the capacity to create a rotation of the forming eggs.
(3)-an incubator post-insemination to protect the eggs which have reached the end of their formation. This location controls the thermostat, the humidity ratio, and allows the reversal of the eggs.
(4)-cartridge towers which complete a cycle of insemination thanks to male breeding cells, albumen cells, vitelline cells, water, and calcium carbonate crystals (in this order).
(5)-an injector with the capacity to move along the rails to take and throw the cartridge, but also to collect and inject the fluids.
Eventually, all of the compartments will be controllable by a touch screen on the side of the incubator.

PARTNERSHIPS
In collaboration with Space MT, this secondary mission aims to develop a virtuous circle by producing food directly on Mars. Our partner wishes to implement an aquarium which will be considered as a seafood provider, as well as a cultivation area to grow edible plants. Hence, the crew member will have the possibility to benefit from the eggs and chicken's nutrients by building a henhouse and carrying on the reproduction of the species but also, from fishes and plants' dietary intake.
To bring the eggs to Mars we will also need the assistance of Hermes Corp which will take it to Mars aboard their landing system.
